NEW – October 2016 – Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation is proud to roll out a brand-new OSY – Out of School Youth program – “Champion Network/Career Connections” for program participants 17 to 24 years of age.
With the support of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, we can now offer more opportunities than ever for young people eager to enter the workforce and find a career with room for growth.
Enter a successful career in two simple steps –
Join the CHAMPION Network by completing a 4-week core training in your choice of one of three areas – ServSafe® Food Handlers Certification, Microsoft Office, or CDL driver’s license. We will also provide supporton basic academic skills and access to a mentor.
Join Career Connections and choose one of the following over the course of the next year:
- Scholarship for advanced training at CUNY, approximate value $3,000
- Paid internship, 150 hours./ $9/hr.
- Free High School Equivalencydegree classes
- Direct job placement.
- College counseling
- Help starting your own business
Earn up to $150 incentive bonus for work/school supplies.
