College Success Programs

Through College Success programs, we help young adults and high school students apply to and enter college, and succeed once they get there.

Services include trips to colleges; financial aid and college application counseling; college awareness workshops; college persistence support; scholarship application support; financial literacy workshops; college nights for parents; academic tutoring; SAT/ACT prep and registration; college course registration; transfer support and personal advising, including advising from our youth leaders, current students who counsel and educate their peers to help them on the road to college.

College STEPS

College STEPS is located in a storefront office, and provides individual counseling, group workshops, SAT prep classes, and college trips to high school students.

Student Success Center (SSC)

The SSC is located on the Franklin K. Lane High School Campus and provides college access counseling and education to students at the four schools on the campus. The SSC also employs Youth Leaders, current high school students trained to serve as peer counselors and educators around college access.

College Persistence Program

Our College Persistence Program provides year-round support services to help our students persist in college and graduate. College Retention Counselors, along with College Coaches (who are current college students), provide support services to students including: on-campus office hours at colleges our students attend, summer programming to help students prepare for college, and group workshops on topics such as how to discuss concerns with professors, accessing academic assistance, financial literacy, resume writing and job readiness.

Cesiah Toro Mullane Scholarship Fund

The Cesiah Toro Mullane Scholarship Fund offers two scholarships a year to current college students in our College Persistence programming. We are currently accepting student applications for 2018! PLEASE NOTE – any student who participates in the Student Success Centers on the Franklin K. Lane and Thomas Jefferson High School campuses or is an incoming college freshman is eligible to apply! Click here to find out more and download the 2018 Application Form
