FARMERS MARKET
Founded in 1998, our community-run farmers market makes fresh food available and affordable, while building our local economy and creating spaces for neighbors to meet and greet. We’ve worked hard to expand and improve our selection, so come on out and see what our vendors have to offer.
The East New York Farmers Market features local gardeners, vendors, and regional farmers. We sell fresh and affordable produce from gardeners around East New York, host craft and hot food vendors, cooking demonstrations, free books, music, and special events at our Saturday markets.
Our market is also the only place in East New York to find local, organic produce; including specialty crops like karela/bittermelon, long beans, malabar spinach and callaloo. We accept cash, debit, SNAP/EBT, eWIC, Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks, Fresh Connect checks, OTC and Health Bucks.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
Every year 15-25 young people participate in our intensive Internship Program. Participants engage in hands-on learning and job training around urban agriculture, community development, leadership and social justice.
Our youth internship mobilizes young people to address food justice in our community. They are involved in all aspects of running a 1/2 acre organic farm, weekly Farmers Market, and provide support to other gardens throughout East New York, often stewarded by elders. Through this process, youth work in multicultural and intergenerational teams to create change in their community. Many youth stay in the program for several years, taking on new leadership roles each season.
