Building Community. Growing Leaders.
College Success Partners
Many high school students in our community have aspirations of going to college, but between figuring out financial aid and navigating the application process, it can be challenging — especially for low-income students who are the first in their families to apply. We help young people overcome those barriers by supporting them in planning for college and succeeding once there. Volunteering as a College Success Partner is a way to be a partner in helping these young people reach their full potential. Volunteer opportunities include:
“Super Saturdays”: Spend an afternoon with high school students sharing your experiences in college and how that led to your current career. The day includes small group activities and discussions that give students a chance to explore various aspects of applying to college, college life, and career pathways.
Career Day: Career exploration is an important part of the college process and your participation gives young people the chance to learn from professionals. You’ll participate in a panel and speak with students at the Franklin K. Lane High School campus who are interested in your career path.
