Cypress Hills East New York Community Center

Building Community. Growing Leaders.

The Cypress Hills East New York Community Center opened in July of 2022, after years of anticipation and planning. This community center features a state of the art commercial kitchen space, cafe, amphitheater, gymnasium, computer lab, and much more for the enjoyment of Cypress Hills and East New York residents. At this center people of all ages can participate recreational activities, community meetings, and beneficial services. Please see below for the programs and activities we are offering for community members at the community center.

The Cypress Hills East New York Community Center is located at 276 Chestnut Street, Brooklyn, NY 11208. The community center will be open:

Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 8 pm

Friday from 9 am to 5 pm

Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm

Music Classes with BKCM

Music BKCM

We partnered with the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music to offer youth between the ages of 9 and 14 the opportunity to receive private instrument lessons, a Saturday band program, and summer band camp for little to no cost. 

Early Childhood Music - This class will be offered to Every Saturday, classes will be held from 10am to 10:45am, 11:15am to 12pm, and 12pm to 12:45pm. Children will be placed in a group that is most age appropriate. Register here.

Intermediate Band Classes - Classes will take place every Saturday from 1pm to 3pm. This 2-hour program includes instrument lessons and ensembles Clarinet, Flute, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone and Percussion. At least one year of lessons or classes on your instrument required. Continuing students from grades 5 to 8 are eligible. Register here.
